Jabra is well-known for producing headphones products for communication needs, especially for the workplace. The Jabra Evolve 40 is no exception.
However, for this headphone, Jabra has come up with a communication headphone design that is suitable for various devices and needs. So you can use this headphone not just for work but for play as well. Here’s a review of the Jabra Evolve 40.
With a mix of red and black, the Jabra Evolve 40’s design is simple but looks modern. It also comes with a thick headphone cushion, making it incredibly comfortable to use. The headphone housing is round and has a semicircular design.
The headband on this headphone is made of plastic, with a thin rubber-coated bottom. This headband supports the headphone for an optimal position on the user’s head, not so tightly gripping that it remains comfortable to wear because it doesn’t put too much pressure on the ear. However, this makes it a little less sturdy when worn.
This headphone is not marked so that it is difficult to find out which ear pad is right and which is left. For your information, the right earpad is the one with a microphone component.
The microphone can rotate 300 degrees. Since this headphone has a round and symmetrical housing, users can push the microphone out of their way when not in use. In addition, the bridge microphone can also be bent because the material is rubber-coated with an elastic wire inside.
The Evolve 40 supports the ‘Jabra Evolve Link’ terminal adapter (intuitive-control unit), which is sold separately. The adapter is used to activate the microphone component on the device and to connect to the computer. When using this additional adapter, the sound is even more powerful, especially for high frequencies. The sound is richer with the adapter on compared to the adapter-less Evolve 40.
The Jabra Evolve 40 also has noise cancellation technology which is a feature that helps to block noise that occurs in the background, particularly when used for communication. When using the headphone with noise cancellation, the background noise is automatically filtered out. So, users can concentrate on listening to the conversation while talking.
The noise cancellation technology available on the Jabra Evolve 40 is a passive one. This form of noise cancellation technology does not necessitate the use of extra battery power. Unlike the usual Active Noise Cancellation Headphones, which require more power to operate and therefore eats up the device’s battery quicker. On the other hand, the noise cancelation built-in Jabra Evolve 40 does not require charging, since it is a wired device and does not have a battery in it.
Overall, this headphone is more optimal for PC devices but that does not mean it cannot be used with smartphones and other gadgets.
The Jabra Evolve 40 is a headphone with a simple on-ear design suitable for all needs that focuses on communication. To fully utilize the communication capabilities, of course, users need to pair it with the Jabra Evolve Link. This headphone retails at $161, making it quite affordable.
In comparison to other Jabra Evolve series, the design is more lightweight, making this device easier to carry around. However, the Jabra Evolve 40 may not cater to the needs of audiophiles in terms of sound quality. Overall, it is a great headphone for day-to-day communication use in the matter of comfort, features and sound clarity.
